A downside to having a greater percentage of the motor's time devoted to power delivery is that cooling the motor might become more of a challenge.

Assumes that the typical 2 and 4 stroke engines do not have offset crankshafts. Offset cranks can alter these numbers somewhat but they are not commonly used and have their own issues.
